Qld: Parliament extends condolences for fires, floods

Queensland MPs have made a sombre return to parliament for the year .. reflecting on
the unprecedented loss of life in the Victorian bushfires .. as well as the state's own
flooding victims.

Premier ANNA BLIGH says Queensland has burns specialists and fire crews ready to help
in Victoria if needed .. and the government's made a one million dollar donation to the
national appeal.

Queensland police have dispatched eight forensic officers to Victoria .. who begin work today.

Parliament's also remembered the seven people who've died in flooding across Queensland
since November.
