Oce North America Launches uniFlow Output Management Software.

Oce, an international company focused on digital document management, announced that Oce North America Document Printing Systems has begun selling the Canon uniFlow v5 Fleet Management Solution.

The Company said this modular, server-based application enables administrators to identify and manage the cost of printing, copying, scanning and faxing across their enterprises, as well as identify users' printing behaviors and address their needs to improve security and printing efficiency.

"With a variety of modules and options, uniFlow v5 brings our customers the ability to totally control their document-related costs and processes, as well as improve security on their Canon and third-party devices," said John Reilly, President, Oce North America, Document Printing Systems.

According to a release, for cost control and reducing print waste, uniFlow allows organizations to track and assess their print usage and costs on all of their devices, from local and networked printers to networked MFPs. Organizations can control who prints and where jobs print by setting up intelligent print rules that send jobs to the most productive and cost efficient device for that job. Additionally, uniFLOW v5 gives customers an easy way to charge back print costs to departments for easier budget management.

"We are excited to offer the Canon uniFlow v5 Fleet Management Solution to Oce customers," said Sam Yoshida, Vice President and General Manager, Imaging Systems Group, Canon U.S.A. "uniFlow v5 provides end-users with new capabilities and functions that simplify work process, allowing administrators time to focus on their core jobs."

The Company noted that all savings generated from uniFlow are recorded, allowing businesses to see the return on their investment, such as when a savings is made by routing a job to a more efficient printer or deleting a secured print job that has not been collected. uniFlow also provides an effective cost-recovery solution to organizations looking to charge back clients for document output. With the Canon uniFlow client pop-up or MEAP application, an end-user can enter/select cost centers (billing codes) prior to making copies or prints.

For enhanced security, uniFlow allows documents to be stored on a server and released only when the user authenticates at the printer with a proximity card, smart card, magnetic swipe card, PIN or username and password. Users can release the print job from any printer or MFP that is enabled with uniFlow, providing a secure follow me print solution. Even users working outside the company network can send jobs to the secure print queue via the Internet to be collected conveniently when they arrive at their office.
