NT: Police appeal for information on murder victim
Northern Territory police have identified the body of a man found in the Katherine
River earlier this month.
The body of 45 year old MICHAEL STREET was found about one kilometre downstream from
the Low Level Bridge on December 12.
An autopsy's revealed injuries to Mr STREET's head had been caused by a crocodile and
he had died from asphyxiation.
Acting Superintendent SCOTT POLLOCK says information from the community has revealed
a vehicle had been sighted in the same area at the time of Mr STREET's death .. believed
to have been on December 10.
Superintendent POLLOCK has appealed for more information to help solve the case.
Mr STREET's believed to have been camping in the area for at least a month.
