SAMSUNG SELLS OVER 2 MLN GALAXY TABS IN 3 MONTHS
SEOUL - Samsung Electronics Co. (KSE:005930), the world's second-largest maker of mobile phones, said Wednesday that it has sold more than 2 million units of the Galaxy Tab tablet computer within three months of its global debut.
Samsung achieved the sales figure this week as the company sells the 7-inch, Android-running tablet through some 200 mobile carriers in 94 countries, the company said.
INDIA'S EDSERVE EYEING US$43.8MLN REVENUE FROM ONLINE COACHING
NEW DELHI - Indian education and placement services company EdServ (BSE:533055) has said it is eyeing Rs 200 crore (US$43.8 million) revenue over the next two years from its foray into the online coaching for chartered accountancy (CA).

INDIA'S GTL POSTS 26.49% DROP IN DEC QTR CONSOLIDATED NET PROFIT
MUMBAI - Indian network services provider GTL Ltd (BSE:500160) today reported 26.49 per cent dip in consolidated net profit for the quarter ended December 31 at Rs 48.34 crore (US$10.59 million).
The company had reported Rs 65.76 crore in the same period last fiscal, it said in a release.
INDIA'S 3I INFOTECH POSTS 4.7 PCT RISE IN DEC QTR NET PROFIT
MUMBAI - Indian IT firm 3i Infotech (BSE:532628) has reported a 4.7 per cent rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 64.36 crore (US$14.10 million) over the October-December quarter of the last fiscal.
Revenue of the company during the quarter increased to Rs 7.2 per cent to Rs 645.31 crore over the corresponding quarter last fiscal year, it said in a release.
IPV4 ADDRESSES IN CHINA FORECAST TO BECOME EXHAUSTED: ANALYSTS
BEIJING - Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPv4) addresses are forecast to be exhausted soon due to strong development of the Internet of Things (IoT) and the popularity of smart terminals, and IPv6 would be the only solution to the shortage, according to industrial insiders.
Zhang Tao, an analyst for Shanghai Securities, said although IPv4 is capable of supporting the computer and mobile phone users in China, there are not enough potential addresses to meet the greater demand of IoT for the network. This means developing IPv6 could be a necessary preparation for the future development of IoT.
BAIDU TAKES 75.5% SHARE OF CHINA'S SEARCH ENGINE MARKET IN Q4
BEIJING - Baidu, Inc. took up 75.5 per cent share in China's search engine market in the final quarter of 2010, according to market research firm Analysys International.
Market share of Google China dropped for the fourth consecutive quarters to 19.6 per cent in October-December of 2010, breaking below 20 per cent for the first time since the second quarter of 2007.
RICOH JAPAN, MICROSOFT JOIN FORCES TO SELL CLOUD SERVICES
TOKYO - Ricoh Japan Corp. and the Japanese arm of U.S. software giant Microsoft Corp. announced Tuesday that they are partnering in domestic sales of cloud computing services.
Under the deal, Microsoft Co's corporate cloud services, including mail, scheduling and document sharing, will be combined with Ricoh Japan's data creation and storage operations and sold to small businesses, starting this year.
S.KOREA AIMS TO BECOME GLOBAL MOBILE COMMUNICATION LEADER
SEOUL - South Korea is seeking to become a global leader in the mobile communications industry in 2015 by building up its capabilities in key components, wireless network systems and contents, the government said Wednesday.
Announcing a next-generation mobile communications development plan, the Ministry of Knowledge Economy said it the country will strive for technological innovations, and infrastructure building that includes acquiring indigenous knowhow and expanding on the fourth generation (4G) Long Term Evolution-Advanced (LTE-Advanced) system that the country developed.
