NSW: Two charged with kidnappings in Sydney's west

SYDNEY, April 17 AAP - Two men will face court today charged over kidnappings and robberies
in Sydney's west.

The charges relate to three incidents in which three men were robbed and two of them
kidnapped near Westmead train station.

On December 4, a man was forced into a car at knifepoint and had a number of items
stolen. He was then dropped off in another street in Westmead.

On January 12, a man was attacked by several men near the train station. He told police
the men tried to force him into a car but he was able to break free and escape, suffering
a cut to his finger.

On January 15, a man was forced into a car at knifepoint and taken to a number of locations
over a period of 17 hours during which cash was taken from his bank account.

Two men were arrested at their homes in Auburn and West Pennant Hills yesterday.

A 19-year-old man was charged with detaining a person for advantage in company and
robbery whilst armed with an offensive weapon.

A 20-year-old man was charged with two counts each of detaining a person for advantage
in company and robbery whilst armed with an offensive weapon.

Both men were refused bail and are to appear at Parramatta Local Court today.
